Hello everyone, as the campaign season nears its end, I thought it would be fun to hold a small competition to show our appreciation to this city, the community members, and the businesses that proudly display him at their establishments. For anyone that is interested and for a chance to win $100, we are asking you to take a picture next to the “Kale Morita’s” around Gardena. The individual that takes the most pictures of Kale Morita on the banners will win the $100 cash prize. This competition is open to everyone, including voters, non-voters, supporters, and non-supporters. This campaign has been tough on everyone. Let’s enjoy these last few days!

As a reminder, the last day to vote in this upcoming election is June 2, 2026.

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. By participating, entrants/participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects.

YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO VOTE FOR KALE MORITA TO PARTICIPATE.

1. Sponsor

The Sponsor of this contest is Kale Morita, located in Gardena California (“Sponsor”).

2. Eligibility

The Kale Morita Scavenger Hunt (the "Contest") is open to everyone. Anyone under the age of 18 may participate with parental consent. Void where prohibited by law. Family members of the Sponsor are not eligible to win.

3. Contest Period

The Contest begins on May 29, 2026 at 9:00 AM PST and ends on June 2, 2026 at 11:59 PM PST (the "Contest Period"). Entries submitted after the Contest Period will not be counted.

4. How to Enter

You are not required to submit anything to enter other than the photos of the Gardena Police Officers’ Association Banners (“Banners”).

5. Judging Criteria & Winner Selection

This is a contest of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner.

  • The Participant that submits the most photos with different Banners showing the Sponsor’s photo will win the prize.

  • Photos of the same Banner will not be counted. It must be a different banner per photo.

  • Participant is not required to be in the photo.

In the event of a tie, the entrant that submitted first will be declared the winner. The winner will be selected on or about June 3, 2026.

6. Prize

One (1) winner will receive a cash prize of $100.00 USD, awarded in the form of cash.

  • No substitution or transfer of the prize is permitted.

  • The Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of the prize is $100.00.

7. Winner Notification & Verification

The potential winner will be notified via direct message to the contact where the photos were sent on or about June 3, 2026. The potential winner must respond within 14 days of notification. If a potential winner cannot be contacted or fails to respond within the required time period, they forfeit the prize, and the Sponsor may award the prize to the next highest-scoring runner-up.

8. Content Restrictions and Disqualification

Entries must be appropriate for a general audience. Any entry that, in the sole discretion of the Sponsor, contains lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, defamatory, profane, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate content, behavior, or language will be immediately disqualified. Disqualified entries will not be judged, counted, or considered for the prize. The Sponsor reserves the right to remove any such entries from public viewing platforms.

9. Publicity & Intellectual Property Release

Except where prohibited by law, entry into the Contest constitutes the entrant’s express grant to Sponsor of an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display the entry, as well as the winner’s name, likeness, and biographical information, for promotional purposes in any media without further payment or consideration.

10. Limitation of Liability & Release

By participating, entrants agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless the Sponsor, its affiliates, and family members from any and all liability, claims, or damages arising out of their participation in the Contest or the acceptance, use, or misuse of the prize.
