Meet Kale Morita
“Professional Experience. Community Heart. Your Next City Treasurer.”
Kale Morita is a legal professional, accounting manager, and dedicated public servant who has spent his career fighting for the everyday working class. As a Paralegal for The Blanchard Law Group, APC, Kale manages the day-to-day operations of a wage and hour class and PAGA action firm.
His work isn't just about paperwork; it’s about accountability. From handling firm budgeting and bookkeeping to conducting complex case law research, Kale has been an integral part of legal teams that have secured hundreds of millions of dollars for workers from some of America’s largest corporations.
Kale’s professional portfolio extends beyond the courtroom. He manages the operations and finances for a 35,000-square-foot apartment complex in the Los Angeles Arts District and a premier art studio in Boyle Heights. This unique blend of legal oversight and property management has given him a sharp eye for fiscal transparency and operational efficiency needed to protect Gardena’s taxpayers.

Kale’s commitment to Gardena goes beyond his professional life. He has served the community as a member of both the Gardena Planning and Environmental Commission and the Gardena Economic Business Advisory Commission. In these roles, he has worked directly on the front lines of our city’s growth—reviewing complex land-use projects and advising on strategies to strengthen our local economy.
This firsthand experience in the legal field, city governance, and his work managing the operations and finances for a apartment complex and art studio, gives him a unique view of Gardena’s fiscal needs.
Beyond his professional life, Kale is a proud Gardena resident and a father of two. His wife is a third-generation Gardena resident and attended Chapman Elementary, Peary Middle School, and Gardena High School. Whether he’s walking with his kids to local City events, trying out a new restaurant in the city, or competing in a flag football or ultimate frisbee league, Kale is deeply rooted in the community he seeks to serve. He is running for City Treasurer to bring his expertise in fiduciary duty and financial management to the city he calls home.
